Never thought...
At my age I have done many things but still amazed at how many things I never thought I would be doing...like making belly button rings. Recently my granddaughter Ayla ventured into piercing and had her belly done. One day she texted me and asked if I would make her some rings for her belly. Didn't know anything about them so Ayla educated me and the project was in play. Found the rings themselves on one of my favorite places to shop...EBay...and bought 10 with rhinestones in a assortment of colors. We spent almost 2 days working on them...she designed and it was my job to try and put them together. Had a few large bags of broken jewelry which she didn't waste anytime going through and found small pieces to incorporate into the designs. Its always a priceless experience when spending time with my grand babies. Truly blessed to have them all be creative like their Nana. Thank you Ayla!

She's done!
Me again...two posts in one day...must be a record...yep it is...
The dress form is done...think I will put her in my bedroom...will do much better on the next one. With that in mind will still post a photo of her. She is my special needs form...she need something...maybe a hug...

Almost done...
Below is a pic of my stuffed dress form ...just waiting for the base to dry so can finish it up. Not really satisfied with it but then again its my first one. Maybe its because of the color, kind of fabric or its because I've been working on it for so long it starts to look ugly... just not sure. Not giving up though...going to be making more of them for my next show...that's the plan anyway...thinking a martini would be a good idea about now...
Its the fourth of July weekend and its very hot out. My hubby has the week off so we are planning to do little things around the house...Maybe some creating...all my fingers and toes are crossed...lol

Foiled...
Today was the day that I planned on stuffing my dress form...after having some difficulty in the neck area...think I got it fixed. To my disappointment after getting about half of it stuffed the seams started separating. I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS! So its back to the cutting table and try it again...this time will put fray check on all the seems and pray that works. Thought that material would work...oh well its not the first time and won't be the last time something just didn't want to come out like I planned.
On a happy note I've posted a photo of my Prince...husband...dressed for our daughter's wedding....His smile keeps me going...

Ready to stuff...
I'm finally getting to work on my dress form! Had to do yard work which took up much of my time. Today I started sewing it and now its time to stuff it. This will take some time...the most important part. Hopefully my next new posting will show a finished dress form. When laying this down for a photo...never remember being this small in my life...maybe when I was 10...

Pink pedals
Every year my Peonies bloom and usually pick them into beautiful bouquets. This year after they lost their beautiful pedals I'm drying them to use in my paper making that I have plans to do this summer. They make a great additive and these petals will turn a deep pink. Can't wait to play in the water on a hot day. I'm thinking of adding them to a linen or cotton base. Will have to see what my day of paper making brings. By suggestion of a friend my plans are to make some wall art with the paper...hopefully my backyard will be lined in white paper and peonies pedals floating through it.

Found One
After doing my first Art Show a few weeks ago I wanted to focus on finding new ideas for displaying my pieces of art. Looked at buying a dress form and discovered they were way out of my budget especially if I wanted more than one. My friend Becky had a child dress form and after examining it they are just not that hard to make. Kinda like a cloth doll torso. So off on a quest to find a pattern for one. Did a web search with not luck...so off to EBay...low and behold found one.
It arrived a few days ago...just as I thought....not very hard. Many years ago I made dolls and teddy bears which were soooo much fun...in fact thinking of doing some again. Anyway have the pattern cut and laid out to cut out and will start sewing after I finish some yard work...lol Always something trying to keep me from creating but not giving into the thought my house has to be clean before I play. Just going to play and let the house yell at me all it wants...the dirt will still be there. No one is going to come and clean it for me and there certainly isn't any fairies that want to take on the task even though I've spent some time looking for them...lol
The morel of the story...Playing all the time isn't just for kids....Besides why should they be the only ones that get to play all the time....lol
