Finally over

As most of you know I had a show this past weekend...whew...glad is is finally over.  After working 3 months on making jewelry and new displays its great to be back in the real world.  Even though it gave me a lot of pleasure making all my little trinkets...I would be lying if I said it was all fun and games.  My fingers have been hit with a hammer, poked, pinned, stabbed, burned, pinched and if that wasn't enough my arthritis wanted to contribute to its fair share of pain.  All for the love of art.

I'm not the kind of person that requires a pat on the back but its nice to hear once and a while, and this weekend I received many kind words on my display and jewelry pieces. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Will I do it again....still thinking about it....there is so many other things that call to me...really need to start on my sculptures...that is where my heart lies...

Oh well sometimes you are on the path to where you want to go and little creatures come and take your hand and try to show you something else.  They are so tempting with a soft voice and kind eyes so you decide to go with them on this new path.  Sometimes there are many jewels on this path and sometimes all you find is yourself standing in mud.  Life has many paths and how do you decide which one to take...I don't think I'll really every know.

All in all it was a great adventure now off to another...

Summer is gone...

I know everyone is saying it but it seems to fit...summer is gone and fall went by way too fast.  Christmas is less than 2 months away...first time ever my Christmas shopping is about half done.  Then of course its time to make Christmas cards and baked goods for my family.
The past few months I have been preparing for the next jewelry show and am pleased to announce there is now a date and time.

When...Nov. 11th 5pm - 9pm
           Nov. 12th 9am - 4pm
Where at the Essexville K of C Hall
                     1021 Woodside Ave., Essexville.

There will be nail services, facials, and massages last buy not least vendors to shop from. I'm bringing all of my hand made jewelry...
It will be a great time and if you get hungry the K of C hall will be selling Soup/Sandwiches, beer & wine, soda.
Great times will be had by one and all...girls weekend out.
Stop by and say Hi and of course don't forget your wallet...lol
After the show its time for the holidays...my favorite time of the year to shop because all the merchants put everything thing out...so you can get things that are normally not available the rest of the year.
I will be posting photos in my next post of my display just in case you can't make it.

Enjoy what is left of the fall....

Some of my work

Recently I had to opportunity to do a photo shoot of Becky White's jewelry.  She is a metal smith and a good friend.  As most of you know I have been shooting photos for most of my life.  During the shoot Becky and I got to take our time and be very creative.  With Becky's permission...have posted a few photo's to show both of our work.  Enjoy!!!

Never thought...

At my age I have done many things but still amazed at how many things I never thought I would be doing...like making belly button rings.  Recently my granddaughter Ayla ventured into piercing and had her belly done. One day she texted me and asked if I would make her some rings for her belly. Didn't know anything about them so Ayla educated me and the project was in play.  Found the rings themselves on one of my favorite places to shop...EBay...and bought 10 with rhinestones in a assortment of colors.  We spent almost 2 days working on them...she designed and it was my job to try and put them together.  Had a few large bags of broken jewelry which she didn't waste anytime going through and found small pieces to incorporate into the designs.  Its always a priceless experience when spending time with my grand babies. Truly blessed to have them all be creative like their Nana.  Thank you Ayla!

She's done!

Me again...two posts in one day...must be a record...yep it is...

The dress form is done...think I will put her in my bedroom...will do much better on the next one. With that in mind will still post a photo of her.  She is my special needs form...she need something...maybe a hug...

Almost done...

Below is a pic of my stuffed dress form ...just waiting for the base to dry so can finish it up. Not really satisfied with it but then again its my first one.  Maybe its because of the color, kind of fabric or its because I've been working on it for so long it starts to look ugly... just not sure.   Not giving up though...going to be making more of them for my next show...that's the plan anyway...thinking a martini would be a good idea about now...

Its the fourth of July weekend and its very hot out.  My hubby has the week off so we are planning to do little things around the house...Maybe some creating...all my fingers and toes are crossed...lol
